Mrs Sadia Rashid, President, Hamdard Foundation Pakistan in her statement said that 10th of Ramazan, Yaum-i-Babul Islam had a significant place in Muslim history of sub-continent as it was the day when Muslim forces under the command of young and dynamic commander, Muhammad Bin Qasim conquered Sindh in AD 712 and paved the way of spreading Islam in South Asia. Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is quoted as saying "Pakistan was established on the very day the first non-Muslim embraced Islam in Sindh".
She further said that Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said was the torch-bearer of the movement of Yaum-i-Babul Islam and would celebrate the day with fervour and zeal. It is pertinent to make people aware of the importance of this day, she added.-PR
