Pakistan on Wednesday condemned Israeli military attacks on Gaza in which several Palestinians including women and children were killed. "Pakistan is deeply concerned at the recent escalation of violence and loss of lives in Gaza and condemns Israeli aggression and supports the international community's efforts towards bringing about cessation of unilateral Israeli strikes killing Palestinians, including women and children," said Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam.
She said that Pakistan had consistently supported the Palestinian cause, specially the two-state solution, which paved the way for a viable, geographically contiguous Palestinian state, created on the basis of pre-1967 borders with Al Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. According to reports, 35 people have been killed in the Israeli strikes in Gaza, as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to "further intensify attacks on Hamas" in the Gaza Strip after talks with his defence chiefs.
