The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed identical petitions filed by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Association and directed the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to issue CNG licenses as per the prescribed rules and regulations.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Jawad S. Khawaja resumed the hearing of 36 petitions filed by the CNG Association pertaining to issuance of CNG licenses. During the course of proceedings, the court directed the OGRA to issue new CNG licenses in light of the apex court's verdict, adding that the licenses should only be issued to those CNG stations that fulfill the requirements of OGRA's laws.
