Non-issuance of CNIC: Interior Minister urged to take action against Nadra officials
Mir Agha, resident of Peshawar demanded of the Federal Minister for Interior to take action against National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) officials for not issuing national identity cards to his family members, despite the apex court orders.
Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday at Peshawar Press Club, Mir Agha resident of Shero Jangai said that for the last five years he was visiting National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office and Peshawar High Court to get national identity cards but to no avail. He alleged that a National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Deputy Director for bringing hurdles and following delaying tactics in issuing national identity cards to him and his other family members.
"The NADRA officials blocked computerised national identity cards (CNICs) of my five family members, about five years back, he alleged, adding for which several times visited the NADRA office but in vain. I then filed a petition in the Peshawar High Court seeking justice against NADRA, in which the apex court ordered issuance of all five CNICs. Though the officials concerned issued three cards to his family members, he said, but yet to receive the remaining two cards one each of his wife Zar Bibi and daughter-in-law Fauzia wife of Nasir.
Agha also lamented that the court several time given verdict in his favour but NADRA officials were doing contempt of court for not issuing him CNICs. He demanded of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar High Court Chief Justice to conduct an impartial inquiry in the matter and provide him justice.
