Punjab Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed has warned that no slackness would be tolerated in meeting the target of Rs 5 billion Ramazan package announced by the government with the objective of ensuring supply of flour and other daily use commodities on cheaper rates. These views were expressed by him while visiting different Ramazan bazaars accompanied by the MPA Rana Abdur Rauf, administrators of market committees and other officers concerned.
Punjab Minister Dr Farrukh Javed took strong notice of complaints of adulteration and substandard quality of flour in Bahawalnagar Ramazan bazaars and forwarded recommendation of suspension of District Food Controller of the concerned district. He also directed the secretaries of the market committee to further bring down the prices of vegetables and other daily use commodities and for this purpose fruits and vegetables should be bought from nearby districts. He observed this intervention would help further bringing down the prices.
The Minister also visited health camp of a Ramazan bazaar and directed that medicines for hypertension and dehydration should also be present in these camps. He also talked to the consumers present in various Ramazan bazaars and enquired about the quality and prices of daily use commodities from them. He directed the administration not to leave any stone unturned to maximum facilitate the consumers in line with the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab.
