Farzana murder case: ATC directs counsel to come up with final arguments

An Anti Terrorism Court here on Wednesday directed the counsel to come up with final arguments on the point whether anti terrorism sections should be removed or not from Farzana murder case who was killed by bricks outside the Lahore High Court.
As the proceedings started, the counsel of main accused Muhammad Azeem and his sons appeared in the court and said that both Iqbal and Azeem had old enmity over different family issues. He pointed out that the sections of anti terrorism could not be put in such old enmity cases. He prayed to the court to remove anti terrorism section in the case.
However, the counsel of Iqbal, the former husband of Farzana, opposed his arguments and said that brutal killing of Farzana caused serious panic in the society and damaged the country's image all over the world. He said in such case, the section of anti terrorism could not be removed. He alleged that the respondents spread terror in the society. After hearing the both sides, the court asked both parties to come up with final arguments on next hearing (July 10). Farzana was killed by bricks outside Lahore High Court when she was come to court to appear before a judge to record her statement about her marriage.
