Chairman Kashmir Council EU, Ali Raza Syed and other office-bearers of the council met the six-member delegation of Pakistan Senators. The Pakistani parliamentary delegation visited European Parliament in Brussels on Tuesday. Ali Raza Syed briefed the delegation about the activities of the council for raising Kashmir issue at EU level.
The Pakistan delegation comprised Haji Mohammad Adeel, the head of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Chairman of Defence Committee, Senator Jahangir Badar of PPP, Senator Malik Rafique Rajwana of PML-N, Senator Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah of PML-F and Senator Abdul Nabi Bangash of ANP. During the meeting developments in Pakistan, India and occupied Kashmir and efforts of Kashmir Council EU for highlighting Kashmir issue at EU level were discussed.
Ali Raza Syed said, "EU parliament elections were held recently and we are trying to meet new members of the parliament in order to brief them on Kashmir issue specially human rights abuses committed by the Indian forces." Pakistani Senators said struggle of Kashmiris is according to the UN Charter and the international community should play an influential role to implement UN's resolutions on the issue. The delegation hailed the efforts of Kashmir Council for raising Kashmir issue. Members of the delegation including Haji Adeel and Mushahid Hussain Syed assured Chairman Kashmir Council EU of their co-operation for raising Kashmir issue.
