A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Wednesday defused two hand grenades and four Improvised Explosive Device (IED), detonators and silencer of pistols, recovered from inside a house in Peshawar, according to police officials. Police raided a house on Pajagi Road, found the explosive material and seized it. The raid was conducted using a Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) of a suspected criminal, reportedly identified as Ilyas.
This suspected criminal was allegedly involved in the attack on a motorway police junior immigration officer last night. Unidentified men had opened fire on the officer and injured him. The officer retaliated, however, the attackers managed to flee, dropping a CNIC at the scene. Using the CNIC of the attacker, the police managed to raid his house. Three women were taken into custody during the search operation, in which sniffer dogs were used as well. Meanwhile, in another incident, police raided the house within in the limit of Mathar police station; where suspected terrorists on the occasion retaliated and exchanged firing. Later, the armed person managed to flee from the scene.
