In the investigation case of Gulsher Ahmed Solangi, DDO Revenue and others, in the Rainee Canal Project case one of the accused Abdul Sattar Kalwar S/O Allah Rakhiyo Kalwar, Supervising (Tapedar) Government of Sindh, arrested by NAB Sindh Intelligence Team from district Ghotki.
The Rainee Canal Project Guddu is being executed by Water & Power Development Authority (Wapda) and land acquisition for the project was carried out by the Revenue department. During investigation it was proved that estate land was illegally converted to private lands by converting running grants into lease and compensation of more than Rs 500 million was paid, which resulted in loss to the government exchequer and illegal gain of Rs 42 million. Abdul Sattar Kalwar in connivance with other accused persons illegally revised, defaulted and cancelled grants and issued TO forms to bogus Khatedars.
A complaint was received by Anti-Corruption Establishment, Sukkur against accused S M Ayaz Rana Deputy District Officer (Revenue) Ubaro for demanding illegal gratification for the payment of land compensation in Rainee Canal Project. As some officials of Wapda were also involved and being Federal Government Employees, the case was forwarded to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) who transferred the same to National Accountability Bureau Sindh for want of jurisdiction. Muhammad Hussain Mughal has already been arrested by NAB and now accused Abdul Sattar Kalwar has also been arrested.-PR
