The rupee recovered 10-paisa against the dollar on the currency market on Saturday in the process of trading activity, dealers said. The rupee move positively versus the dollar, gaining 10-paisa for buying and selling at Rs 98.80 and Rs 99.00 respectively, they said. The rupee maintained overnight levels in terms of the euro for buying and selling at Rs 134.25 and Rs 134.50, they said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: At the week-end, the US dollar was stable against the yen and the euro on as Portugal's largest bank sought to reassure investors about its financial stability. Banco Espirito Santo said on Thursday night that loan losses to the troubled empire of its founding family would not put the bank at risk of running short of capital.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee maintained upward and gained five-paisa against the US dollar on the local currency market on Saturday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar resumed trading on a negative sign but could not sustain due to lacking buyers' interest.
A close of week, the dollar was ended further lower at Rs 99.00 and Rs 99.25 as its buying and selling rate against Rs 99.05 and Rs 99.30 of Friday, respectively.
On the contrary, the rupee failed to maintain rising trend and was depreciated against the pound sterling. The pound was traded at Rs 169.25 and Rs 169.50 on buying and selling counter compared with day earlier closing of Rs 169.00 and Rs 169.25, respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against the dollar on the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Saturday.
The dollar opened at Rs 98.50 (buying) and Rs 98.60 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 98.50 (buying) and Rs 98.60 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 165 (buying) and Rs 165.50 (selling) against same last rate. It closed at the same rate without further change by the end of evening session.
