A section of the press has reported discrepancies in the figures stated in the Memorandum of Economic & Financial Policies (MEFP) for the third quarter review under the IMF programme, posted on its website on July 9th, 2014. On the perusal of the Memorandum it transpired that due to inadvertent oversight the expected GDP growth of 4.3 percent was mentioned as 3.3 percent. Whereas for the year 2014-15, the GDP expansion of around 4 percent was mentioned instead of 5 percent. The Ministry has already conveyed this to the IMF.
