The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a letter to Director General, Press Information Department (PID), has directed him to initiate an inquiry against ex-Pemra chairman, ex-PIO and ex-federal secretary Chaudhry Rasheed Ahmed on charges of misplacement of record meant to allegedly hush up the matter pertaining to the multi-million advertisement campaign launched during the PPP-era for government image-building and payment to an advertisement company through fake bills.
The NAB has also directed registration of a criminal case against Chaudhry Rasheed Ahmed and others for allegedly destroying or causing loss to record of a Rs 400 million advertisement campaign for image-building of the former prime minister and government of the PPP and a payment to the advertisement company through bills which have been found to be fake during investigations. Chaudhry Rasheed Ahmed, the then PIO, in alleged connivance with the advertisement company.
