Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq has said that the absence of true leadership in Muslim World was a major reason behind killing of innocent people in Palestine, Kashmir and other parts of Muslim countries. He expressed these views while speaking at a "Solidarity Rally" held here on Wednesday under the aegis of Jamaat-e-Islami, district East, on newly-constructed Professor Ghafoor Road, near Jauhar Morr, to express unity with the people of Palestine.
The JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and others were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Siraj-ul-Haq said that the Professor Ghafoor was a brave soldier and patriot and that is why he felt proud in inaugurating the road that has been named after Professor Ghafoor Ahmed.
He said that the leadership of Muslim countries was in the hands of coward people, urging the people to say 'Labbaik' on the call of Palestinian people. He appealed to the Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to lead the Muslim Ummah and call for organising an Islamic Conference against the Israeli aggression. "Today the fight is continuing between the slaves of Islam and the slaves of Obama", he remarked.
He said that his party would start a campaign after Eid-ul-Fitr through which it would be inviting the people of country to join the Islamic revolution. In his telephonic address, the top Palestinian leader of Hamas, Dr Khalid Mashal, said that the people of Palestine have great respect for the emotions of Pakistan towards the people of Gaza, who have been fighting for the justice.
"The Hamas successfully confronted the Israeli aggression," Dr Mashal said, adding that the real faces of United Nations and Western world would be exposed. He hoped that the Muslim Ummah will not let the people of Palestine alone and play their due role in this regard. He further vowed that the Hamas would not do away with its Islamic struggle (Jihad) against the evil powers of the world.
JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem said that 17th Ramazan has a significant importance in the history of Muslim Ummah, as Ghazwa-e-Badr took place on that day. "Those who called themselves as the champions of human rights are playing the role of silent spectators over the Gaza situation", he added. He stressed the need for the Muslim Ummah's unity so as to foil the conspiracies being hatched to destabilise Muslim countries.
