Bail granted to Lesco's former chief

A special judge central here on Wednesday granted bail to Lesco's former chief Arshad Rafiq in a case of misappropriation in purchase of transformers. The FIA had registered the case and accused the officer of causing huge loss to national exchequer in the purchasing process for the transformers. It said substandard transformers were purchased by the suspect during his tenure. The counsel of the suspect, however, denied the charges and said the agency failed to recover anything from the suspect during the physical remand.
