Takrah Qabailee Khwenday (Brave Tribal Sisters/Women), a non-government organisation, stressed for immediate attention of all sections of government towards solving the problems of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) from North Waziristan Agency (NWA).
TQK and its partner organisations in a meeting demanded of the Federal and Provincial Governments to take concrete measures to overcome one of the major disasters of the country's history. The meeting was attended by the TQK and its member-organisations' officers to discuss the problems faced by millions of NWA displaced persons especially the women of the tribal areas, according to a press release issued here on Thursday. It is decided in the meeting to plan for the support of displaced women from North Waziristan Agency.
Naila Khalil from VOA-Dewwa Radio online through Skype also participated in the meeting. She asked several questions with regard to the current situation of the IDP's. The issue of NoC was also discussed in the meeting and Fazal Saeed from FRC and Ms Zainb Azmat from The Edifiers was nominated to co-ordinate with PDMA and FDMA for NOC and staff movement.
Nusrat Ara of SAP-PK (Peshawar) and WDO (Mardan) told the participants if they need any help in Bannu or co-ordination with any line department of KP govt, especially the Education Department, she can be reached any time as her staff available in Bannu currently.
Kainat Khan from Miran Shah shared the problems of the IDP's particularly about the women and informed the participants that they have no access to health, sanitation, food and clean drinking water. Ms Azra Nafees from Education Sector explained her aid process that how she collected donations through schoolchildren and wanted to go to the IDP's camp.
She requested to support her as soon as possible to save the children motivation for humanitarian services. Dr Said Alam Mehsud of PUT (Pakhtunkhwa Ulasee Tehrik) offered his full support of medical team, however, he stressed on efficient service delivery of the health department.
