Directorate of Health Services (DHS) Capital Development Authority (CDA), during previous week issued 103 notices and 36 challans to the violators of hygiene sections of PPF Ordinance 1960 including seal of four bakeries.
Two (02) bakeries at G-10 Markaz, one (01) bakery in Sector I-8/4 market and one bakery at I-8/3 were partially sealed. Furthermore 10 litters of expired soft drinks, seven (07) Kg rotten mangoes, seven (07) dozen rotten bananas, three (03) kg rotten lemons, three (03) kg expired mayonnaise, three (03) dozen packs of gutka and three (03) dozens non-branded expired snacks were confiscated and all perishable items destroyed there and then.
The said action was taken by two specially formed Directorate of Health Services teams each headed by a Food Inspector working under supervision of Health Officer. Performance of the teams is being examined on daily basis, said a press release.
Member Administration CDA, Amir Ali Ahmed has directed Directorate of Health Services to continue operation against sub-standards fruit and vegetables sellers in the city to make sure the supply of hygienic food stuff for the masses during monsoon season. As per principals of public health and relevant rules action should be taken against sellers of sub-standards, un-hygienic and expired food stuff.
On the directions of Member Administration CDA, Amir Ali Ahmed special teams are busy in taking action against sale of un-hygienic food stuff. These teams are ensuring the supply of hygienic and quality food stuff to the residents of Islamabad during the moon soon season. The teams are submitting their weekly progress report to the Member Administration.
