The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is considering giving a special relief package for voluntary home returning Afghan refugees. According to the new package returning, the Afghan refugees will be paid U$200, free transport and household items, said an UNHCR official while talking to APP.
The official said all Afghan families, having Proof of Registration (PoR) cards, could get benefit from the package.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan is the largest refugee hosting country in the world and currently hosting around 1.6 million registered Afghan refugees.
Since March 2002, UNHCR has facilitated the return of 3.8 million registered Afghans from Pakistan under the world's largest voluntary repatriation operation.
