Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan has said that no effort will be spared for provision of all possible facilities to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency. Taking the notice of the inadequate disbursement of cash amounts among the IDPs of NWA, Governor said that any laxity or negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
He said that all the resources had been made available for the assistance of IDPs and directed the relevant authorities of FATA secretariat that provision of cash amount to the IDPs must be ensured within next five days and detailed report should be submitted to him on daily basis.
He expressed these views while presiding over a high-level meeting regarding disbursement of cash amounts among the IDPs, here on Sunday.
He directed all the administrative authorities to take effective measures to make sure the provision of all possible facilities to the IDPs on priority basis. A detailed briefing was also given to the Governor by Director General FDMA Abid Majeed regarding the provision of cash to the IDPs. Besides Chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amjad Ali Khan, principal secretary to Governor, Dr. Muhammad Fakhr-e-Alam and others also attended the meeting.
The Governor directed concerned authorities to take measures for provision of all possible facilities including disbursement of cash amounts among the IDPs without delay.
He expressed dismay over the inadequate disbursement of cash amount to the IDPs and said the federal government has already released Rs 1.2 billion so far on the directive of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the smooth and speedy disbursement of the cash amounts.
He asked for establishing cash disbursement points in all affected districts including Bannu for smooth and early payments of cash amounts to the IDPs.
While paying tributes to the tribesmen particularly the IDPs of North Waziristan who are sacrificing for the sake of peace in the country, the Governor said tribal people have already played vital role to make the country's defense impregnable and their services will also be remembered by the people.
He assured that the Government will extend all possible facilities to the displaced persons.
He directed the administration to take measures on emergent basis for early provision of ration, medicines and other essential items.
