The special branch of the capital police has identified 895 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) during a survey who shifted to Islamabad after the launch of military operation in North Wazirstan. Following the directives of the Interior Minister Chuadhry Nisar Ali Khan, the special branch conducted the survey with the aim to know about the families that shifted to the federal capital after launch of the operation.
According to the survey, 895 IDPs shifted to Islamabad and residing with their relatives or in hired homes, a police official said. He said that a total of 164 families with 464 male IDPs and 431 females IDPs have shifted to Islamabad. The profession of males was business or agriculture and some persons from amongst them have come to capital without following proper procedure of formal registration, he said.
The official said that as many as 25 families with 225 persons are residing in Bhara Kau area, 24 families with 180 IDPs in Golra area, three families with 25 persons in Ternol area and 80 families with 465 persons in other areas. The special branch has submitted a report to the Ministry of Interior in this regard.
