Chairman LPG Distributors Association (DA) Irfan Khokhar and President of Rickshaw Union (RU) Mujeed Ghori on Wednesday demanded of Oil and Gas Authority (OGRA) to take back its decision to ban filling of public service vehicles with Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club along with Secretary Information LPG distributors Atique Khan they gave ultimatum to OGRA if they had not taken back the decision of ban on filling of public service vehicles with LPG till August 11 they will stage a protest outside OGRA office. They threatened to stop supply of LPG across the country if their demands were not met.
They said in 2005 use of LPG in auto sector was declared legal then why government imposed ban on the use of LPG in auto sector. They said 300,000 auto rickshaw drivers are affected by this decision. They also said this decision has destroyed the business of LPG distributors. They said LPG is a cheap environment-friendly fuel.
