Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif approved the summary of the commemorative postage stamp on successful completion of 100 years for conservation of Sahiwal Cattle breed. This was claimed by a spokesman of Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Department here on Friday.
The spokesman said Livestock Department has been working since 1914 on Sahiwal Cattle breed for its conservation at Jahanghirabad cattle farm in District Khanewal and that still continues. In addition to that, after successful completion of 100 years in 2014 Livestock and Dairy Development Department decided that Sahiwal Cattle breed proved as the best milk producer. Due to this extraordinary achievement a case has been sent to Government of Pakistan for the issuance of commemorative postage stamp and ultimately summary approved on above-mentioned subject by Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif.
Secretary Livestock extended thanks on this kindness and further appreciated the efforts made by Ministry of Communication Pakistan and Pakistan postal service on this achievement. Secretary Livestock congratulated the L&DD staff breeders and farmers. He further added that this commemorative postal stamp has been issued to honour the globally known breed and its lovers, keepers, breeders and all stakeholders.
