KP Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan presided over a high-level meeting on Friday to review the facilities extended to displaced persons of North Waziristan so far. Major General Akhtar Jameel Rao of Pakistan army, administrative secretaries, KP and Fata and representatives of the UN relief agencies attended the meeting. During the meeting, Major General Akhtar Jameel Rao briefed the meeting regarding displaced persons from North Waziristan and provision of relief assistance to them.
Speaking on the occasion, KP chief secretary said that government organisations are serving the IDPs in a very better manner, which will continue till their repatriation. On this occasion, Director General of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Tahir Orakzai said international relief agencies including United Nations and its subsidiary welfare organisations are ready for extending full support to government institutions in the provision of assistance to all IDPs families. He said that relief agencies are keen in provision of assistance in different sectors including education, health, food, and nutrition and camp management.
