National Highway and Motorway Police has started aggressive campaign against the transporters involved in overcharging from the passengers during Eid days. IG Motorway also directed to explore all possibilities to return back extra fare to passengers.
Various police teams were constituted headed by SSPs in this regard.
According to Inspector Imran Shah, the central Zone under the supervision of SSP Muhammed Inkasar Khan has returned overly charged amount of Rs 102,685 to 354 passengers and imposed Rs 43,000 fine on PSVs vehicles.
While under the supervision SSP M-2 South Khurram Shezad of Motorway Police Officers of M-2 South Zone checked more about 1300 vehicles and took action against 57 violators and made them to return overly charged amount of more than Rs 100,027 to 1002 passengers and imposed heavy fine to violators.
The passengers appreciated the swift and prompt action taken by Motorway Police. SSP Khuram Shezad also asked the passengers that they can launch their complaints on Motorway Police help line 130 in =case of any problem.
