PTI urged to adopt democratic process: Parliament appropriate forum to resolve issues: Barjis
Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Barjis Tahir on Saturday said the parliament was the appropriate forum to resolve issues; hence, those politicians who are announcing to take to streets for acceptance of their demands should use the forum of parliament to address their problems.
While addressing a function in connection with Independence Day celebrations, the minister said survival and development of the country depends on strengthening democratic process. He said the politicians should use the forum of Parliament to resolve issues instead of holding protests and marches. He added protest rallies and long marches are contrary to the spirit of democratic philosophy.
Barjis Tahir said Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran Khan should support government's efforts for stabilising the democratic institutions as well as national economy. He warned that undemocratic forces could take advantage of the situation if Imran Khan remained stick to his intransigence. He made it clear that there is no room for politics of slogans and sit-ins, as several thousand people cannot derail democracy established in the country with the help of millions of people.
