Lahore Township Industries Association (LTIA) Chairman Zaheer Bhutta has welcomed the Punjab government's initiative of setting up small coal power plants near industrial estate and termed it a step in right direction. He said that coal power plants would ensure continuous electricity supply to the industrial estate.
While talking to different delegations of industrialists from LTIA led by Mian Khurram Ilyas, Senior Vice Chairman, Aamir Atta Bari, Vice Chairman and others said that energy crisis had engulfed the whole industrial sector but Chief Minister Punjab's efforts to resolve this crisis were remarkable. He said agreement between Punjab government and a Chinese company for 900MW solar energy and coal power project would bring province out of darkness. It would develop the industrial sector leading to more revenue to the government helping the economy to come out of economic issues, he added.
