Two major coalition partners of PTI led provincial government Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and Awami Jamhoori Itehad (AJI) has outrightly rejected the proposal of the dissolution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. The coalition partners of PTI have expressed a unanimous stance and said that the provincial assembly is the sacred trust of the people of the province, which disliked the proposal of the dissolution of the provincial assembly. They said if PTI itself wants to quit the provincial government then it is its right. Though they said the PTI should have taken its coalition partners into confidence before taking such decision.
They said that in case of the dissolution of the provincial government they accept it as their right. But, so far the matter of the dissolution of the provincial assembly is concerned JI and AJI are not in its favour.
These views were expressed by Ameer Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Siraj-ul-Haq and chief of AJI, Provincial Minister for Health, Shahram Khan Tarakai while addressing a joint press conference after an one-hour long meeting here at Al-Markaz-e-Islami on Sunday.
The JI chief said that so far the matter of Azadi March is the decision of PTI, which is independent in its decisions. However, he said that August 14 is happy occasion and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should also exhibit sagacity and allow PTI for staging its demonstration.
To a question, they said that neither JI nor AJI was taken into confidence over Azadi March and we know about it through media. However, they said that they are only coalition partners with PTI in KP government and it was not necessary that they should have taken us into confidence in this regard. But, so far the matter was regarding the dissolution of provincial government or assembly, then it should have to take its coalition partners into confidence.
To another question, Siraj-ul-Haq said that he is meeting with a PTI delegation comprising of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak and Ejaz Chaudhry in Islamabad on August 4 (Monday) and would see what they say. However to question regarding the strategy of JI and AJI in case of dissolution, he said it would be made on that time.
In response to another question, he said that situation in the province had not reached to such climax that require the dissolution.
Speaking on the occasion, AJI chief and Provincial Minister for Health, Shahram Khan Tarakai said that they have the same stance and the same was also decided in the meeting before the media briefing.
Earlier, the leaders of both political parties agreed on the point of the continuation of democratic institutions and democracy should not be derailed in any circumstances. They also agreed that electoral process in the country should be fair and transparent and the existence of an independent. Autonomous and effective election commission is must.
