Modest trading activity was witnessed on the wholesale grain market on Monday where prices almost declined to fall in buying interest, dealers said. On the grams side, Guwar Sindh and Punjab low type was down by Rs 200 to Rs 5400 and the good variety was lower by Rs 100 to Rs 5600, Grams Australian No 1 lost Rs 300 to Rs 5400, Grams Australia No 2 followed same trend, losing Rs 100 to Rs 5200, Grams 50x50, however, gained Rs 200 to Rs 5200, grams Dall 50x50 also picked up Rs 100 to Rs 5600, they said.
On the cereals side, Gur low type rose by Rs 200 to Rs 6000 while the best variety retained week-end level at Rs 7000, other commodity items did not show any change in the process of trading, they said. On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (new) low type shed Rs 50 to Rs 1650 while the good type was unchanged at Rs 1800, they said. Prices were unmoved on the rice sector, they added.
