Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said PML-N government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is implementing solid economic policies to strengthen economy. He said that an effective strategy has been adopted for the promotion of local and foreign investment and billions of dollars are being invested in Pakistan by foreign investors.
He said that resolving of energy crisis and eradication of terrorism is essential for rapid national development and the government is working on both issues seriously. He said this while talking to various delegations during a meeting here on Tuesday. The Chief Minister said that PML-N is the founder party of Pakistan and will make it a strong and prosperous country. He said that modern infrastructure plays a key role in the promotion of economic and trade activities and PML-N government has always given priority to such development projects as could help in the progress and prosperity of the masses.
He said that Punjab government has set record of public services during the last six years and this process will continue. Shahbaz said that billions of rupees are being spent on public welfare programmes. He said that self-employment scheme, metro bus service, Ashiyana housing project, Punjab educational endowment fund, laptops scheme and yellow cab scheme are such welfare projects of the government from which a large number of people are benefiting.
He said that metro bus project in Lahore has resulted in provision of international standard transport facilities to the citizens and about 0.2 million people travel by metro buses daily. He further said that orange line metro train project is also being launched in the provincial metropolis which will revolutionise transport system.
He said that the elements who are against the progress of the people are promoting chaos and confrontation in the country whereas some others are trying to hamper the process of national development and prosperity through long march, revolution and protest. The Chief Minister said that no one can interrupt the process of development through politics of anarchy.
