In connection with Independence Day celebrations, Pakistan Movement Workers Convention (PMWC) was held here at Nusrat Fateh Ali Auditorium under the joint arrangement of City District Government, Faisalabad Arts Council and Nazria Pakistan Forum. The Convention was presided over by Pakistan Movement Workers Gold Medallist Alhaj Sh. Bashir Ahmad.
MPA Begum Suryia Nasim, Mian Abdul Kareem, EDO CD Asif Tara, RD Arts Council Tariq Javed, DO Social Welfare Waheeda Iftikhar, Vice President of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries Chaudhry Asghar Ali, Sh. Khalid Parvaiz and a large number of people belonging to different walks of life were present in the Convention. Addressing on the occasion Alhaj Sh. Bashir Ahmad said he remained associated with the Pakistan movement and witnessed the process of Independence which was tragic story when the Muslims of Subcontinent faced atrocities of Indian Hindus and Sikhs. He said Pakistan was achieved after rendering a lot of sacrifices which is gift from Allah Almighty and we should work very hard to make the country strong and prosperous by honouring the Independence. He advised the younger generation to follow the ideology of Pakistan and to serve it with devotion and commitment.
Alhaj Bashir Ahmad appreciated the decision made by the present government for month-long celebrations for independence and said the aim of promoting unity and patriotism among the nation would be fulfilled by celebrating independence with enthusiasm and zeal. MPA Begum Suryia Naseem said the present government is following the revolutionary polices to make the Pakistan as developed country on modern lines. He said people should reject the negative politics of the opposition and support the present government to overcome the energy crisis and menace of terrorism.
