Political leaders have regretted Imran Khan's way to bring reforms in political system and said that he should resolve issues in the parliament instead of mobilising people for chaos. Taking part in Radio programme, Awami National Party's Senator Shahi Syed said Imran Khan's point of view regarding electoral reforms is not wrong; however, the path he is following is not democratic.
He said the country is passing through a critical time and any chaos at this time can derail democracy. He said Imran Khan has voiced against corruption, but does not bother to look at his own close aides who previously were part of corrupt governments. He urged media to unveil the real face of Imran Khan and his designs against democratic set-up.
Former member National Co-ordination Committee Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Naveed Khan said if Imran Khan had reservation on election results, he immediately had to express his reaction. He said there is no reason to trigger chaos among public against a democratic government after one-year. He said there is no meaning to Imran Khan's slogan for new Pakistan because Pakistan is our mother and mothers cannot be changed.
He said PTI's Azadi March is merely for the sake of political gains, which will give wrong message to our youth. He said PTI's government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so far has remained failed to deliver. PML-N leader Rehman Salam Khattak said Imran Khan is in hurry to become Prime Minister, but does not have sense of what is happening in the country. He said Imran Khan does not have any agenda and failed to bring change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Taking part in the programme, senior journalist Hafiz Tahir Khalil said the Prime Minister has started holding meetings with leaders from different political parties on the prevailing political situation. He hoped that the interaction would prove useful in strengthening democracy in the country. He said protest is a right of every citizen in the country, but it should be under the limits of law and the Constitution. Underlining the need for resolving all the issues through dialogue, Tahir Khalil said every individual should demonstrate solidarity with the armed forces that are fighting against terrorists in North Waziristan. Senior journalist Abdul Qayyum Siddiqui said all matters and issues should be resolved politically. He said the politics of agitation being pursued by Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri is not solution to the issues.
