Federal government has decided to bring down loadshedding duration to six hours daily from August 10 to 14 to deter the 'Azadi March' of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) scheduled on the Independence Day. Ministry of Water and Power has issued special directives to power distribution companies to cut the loadshedding duration to six hours during the second week of August.
Sources said that decision was aimed at minimising the participation of general public in long march as majority of people who were adversely perturbed due to prolonged loadshedding would prefer to stay indoors when power supply situation would improve. LESCO and other power distribution companies have been asked to ensure implementation on the government's plan.
