Teams of Pakistan Rangers and Islamabad police on Wednesday conducted joint search operation in slum area of Bhara Kahu and nabbed 37 suspects including nine Afghans, a police spokesman said. Following directions from SSP Islamabad Muhammad Ali Nekokara, search operation was conducted in Bhara Kahu which was participated by teams of Rangers and Bhara Kahu police station.
It was supervised by SP (City) Mustansar Ferooz and SDPO Secretariat Khalid Nadeem, SHO Bhara Kahu police station, contingents of Rangers and officials of other security agencies also joined it. During this search operation, 37 suspects including nine Afghans have been arrested who are being investigated further. SP City Area has said that Afghan cards of nabbed suspects would be verified and their mobile phones record would be obtained. He said Islamabad police had set up a cell with latest technology to trace the links of such suspects with criminal elements, dacoits or car lifters if any.
SSP Islamabad has further directed to maintain high vigilance and conduct search operation in under construction buildings, hotels, inns, slum and other areas. Islamabad Police recovered SMG gun, pistol along with ammunition from the accused and further investigation is underway from them.-PR
