Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has geared up preparations for active participation of workers in its 'Azadi march' against the federal government in Islamabad on August 14, as thousand of workers were registered at various registration points in Peshawar.
The arrangements for participation in Azadi march in the federal capital are being accelerated, says Ayesha Gulalai, MNA and PTI provincial information secretary while talking to this scribe here on Wednesday. She added, 'a good number of workers, including affiliating youth and students wing got them registered at various registration points in the Peshawar.
An in-charge of registration camp, said that they have so far registered thousand of PTI workers since setting up the registration camp at Dalazak and Phendo road in provincial capital. He furthermore added the party has decided to visits far flung district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to mobilise the masses for the upcoming Azadi March in Islamabad. We are expecting participation around 30,000 people from each district, while, 50,000, strength is expected from Peshawar, Ms Gulalai said. She added that the protest rally will leave for Islamabad from Peshawar Motorway. She further said the all rallies will intermingle at Burhaan interchange near Islamabad.
When asked about the possible blockade of the government against PTI rally, she said that special force would be deputed to remove all hurdle and barricades on route of rally. She said that the force will carry blockade remover along themselves, which was decided in the party's local meetings.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Provincial General secretary Khalil Maswood said that preparation are in full swing and large number of people have registered themselves in registration points. He said that maximum participation is expected from the workers however he said that he could not tabulate the figures. ISF provincial president Sohail Afridi said that over 50,000 tigers of PTI will join the march on capital on 14th of August and all barriers will be crushed which come in our way. Sohail Afridi confirmed that 16,000 workers from Malakand Region, 10,000 workers from south region, 20,000 workers from Peshawar region and 15,000 workers of ISF from Hazara Region will participate in the Azadi March. He said the students of the province are motivated and determined to participate in Azadi March and all of them are in favour of staying in Islamabad till acceptance of their demands.
Afridi further said that a new and prosperous Pakistan is not far ahead and ISF workers will participate in the March without concern for their lives. He stated that because of Imran Khan's call, we have decided to hold our protest until the kingdom of Sharif family is eliminated and true democracy gain roots in Pakistan.
ISF provincial chief mentioned that ISF cannot be stopped by miscreants like Gullu Butt and any one who tries to stop the march will be dealt with iron hands. ISF president further stated that the student leadership has completed their tours of Malakand and southern regions whereas today the meeting of Peshawar region will be held in University of Peshawar.
President PTI Women wing Mehar Taj Roghani said that women will participate in the event with full strength and rigor and a separate monitoring unit will be set-up which will look after the security, accommodation and transport of women. A meeting of women wing was held here at PTI provincial secretariat in which members of KP assembly and other elected representatives took part. While chairing the meeting, Leaders of the women wing also met with PTI Provincial secretary General Khalid Masood in which matters relating to the preparations were discussed. While briefing media representatives, Khalid Masood said that people from KP will reach Islamabad in greater strength from Punjab and a similar motorcycle rallies will also leave from KP.
