The country's total liquid foreign exchange reserves fell by $33.7 million during the last week. According to the State Bank of Pakistan's weekly forex report issued on Thursday, Pakistan's total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $14.307 billion as on August 1, 2014 compared to $14.341 billion as on July 25, 2014.
During the period under review, reserves held by the SBP posted a slight increase of $1.3 million to $9.277 billion. However, the banks' reserves registered a decline of $35 million during the last week. Reserves held by the banks declined to $5.03 billion as on August 1, 2014.
