Inzamam satisfied with young Pakistan side
Defending the young side, Pakistan cricket Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has said that he is satisfied with the team he has sent to UK, adding that they have the potential to become world-class players.
The inexperienced Pakistan side had a good tour of England so far, except for their performance in Leeds Test. Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Abbas were the stand out performers for Pakistan on the tour.
Brushing off criticism for sending a young team for the UK tour, the former cricketer in an interview said that he is satisfied with the team he has sent.
Speaking about Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali’s miss firings, he said the team definitely feels the loss of Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan. However, he expressed hope that the two can turn around their recent performance and get back on top.
However, he was quite satisfied with the leadership of Sarfraz Ahmed. Inzamam said that it is a given that the captain comes under pressure in the game, which affects his performance. He believes Sarfraz's own performance can be done better with the captain having the potential do to so.
Pakistan will next play two T20I against Scotland on June 12 and 13 in Edinburgh.
