Instagram introduces new feature for its Stories
Instagram has added yet another feature to its Stories where a person can instantly repost someone else’s story as their own if they are mentioned in it.
Popular picture-sharing app Instagram announced a new feature called '@mention Sharing' that when any user will mention a friend in their story, they will be able to share that particular photo/video in their own story. In simpler terms, if any person missed out on sharing a story of any event, they can still repost it thanks to their friends’ stories.
As Instagram explains, when someone tags a user to their story, the user receives a notification in their direct message thread with that person. There will now be an addition to that where the user will have an option ‘Add This to Your Story’ in order to add that content to their own 24-hour-long story.
Instagram might allow users to post hour-long videos
Upon tapping, the story will be seen as a sticker where the user can edit, rotate and re-position it as well. When the user’s followers will see his story, they will see it under his own name instead of from whom it has been borrowed and can also tap on their name to see that person’s profile.
However, there is a catch to this new feature. Only public accounts can have their stories shared. Also, this feature is available in iOS and Android as part of Instagram version 48.
