The Lahore High Court on Tuesday suspended the appointment of Accountant General Punjab Javed Jehangir and allowed petitioner Imran Iqbal to continue functioning as AGP. Earlier, the petitioner argued that the auditor general transferred him and appointed Javed Jehangir as AGP despite the fact that auditor general had no power to appoint AGP. He pointed out that only Controller General Accounts possessed power to appoint AGP. The court after hearing the arguments suspended appointment of Javed Jehnagir.
