Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, paid rich tributes to the glorious struggle of the Al-Ikhwanul Muslimoon in Egypt and said their unparalleled sacrifices would not go waste. In a statement here on Thursday, he said the Ikhwan's struggle is for the supremacy of Islam, peace and stability, freedom and democratic system.
He said dictatorship that had been ruling Egypt for the last 62 years could not tolerate the democratically elected government of Dr Mursi only for a single year. Dr Mursi's government was toppled and more than 4,000 innocent workers and supporters of Al-Ikhwan were massacred on a single day, 14th of August 2013.
He said the supreme leader of the Al-Ikhwan besides hundreds of other innocent political leaders and workers were handed down sentence of death and life term after brief hearing of ten to fifteen minutes and hundreds of Egyptians including journalists had been put to death.
The JI Chief said Human Rights Watch's latest report held General Sisi and the military dictatorship responsible for the bloodshed. However, he said mere publication of this report is not enough because in spite of this report the world community is practically behind General Sisi. He urged the world community not to support the killer Sisi's regime and instead make every effort to restore democracy and basic human rights in Egypt.
He saluted the Egyptian masses and the Al-Ikhwanul Muslimoon for continuing their struggle peacefully in spite of the brutalities of the Sisi regime. He is sure that Egypt would regain its lost importance in the Muslim world and the Pharaohs of the present era would meet their fate.
