A fresh westerly wave is expected to approach upper parts of the country on Friday (evening/night) which is likely to persist during next 36 hours, according to Met Office. The office warned that isolated heavy falls may also occur in Islamabad, Peshawar, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Kashmir during Friday to Sunday.
"Seasonal low lies over North Balochistan and adjoining areas. Light to moderate monsoon currents would continue penetrating upper parts of the country and Kashmir during next 48 hours and likely to intensify from Friday to Sunday," it said. It said rain-thundershowers are expected at scattered places of Kashmir, Islamabad, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad divisions), upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar and Kohat divisions) and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated heavy falls may also occur in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Kashmir on Friday.
On Saturday, it said, rain-thundershowers are expected at scattered places of Kashmir, Islamabad, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad divisions) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at isolated places in lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Bannu and D.I. Khan divisions), Northeast Balochistan (Zhob, Quetta and Kalat divisions), Sahiwal division and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated heavy falls may also occur in Islamabad, Peshawar, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Kashmir, it said.

It said mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-thundershowers are expected at few places of Hazara, Rawalpindi divisions and Kashmir on Monday.
