Joint opposition in KP Assembly on Tuesday submitted no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Pervez Khattak with provincial Assembly Secretariat. The opposition leader in KP Assembly, Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman of JUI-F submitted the motion in the presence of the parliamentary leaders of all opposition parties in the Assembly except Sardar Aurangzeb Nalotha of PML-N, who was represented by Arbab Akbar Hayat.
Talking to media, Maulana Lutf-ur-Rehman said that the no-confidence motion was carrying the signatures of 47 opposition legislators. He said that the decision of submission of no-confidence motion has been taken after consultations and keeping in view situation and new political developments in Islamabad.
He said the undemocratic moves of PTI and PAT are aimed at to derail democracy in the country and it is very clear that no one will be allowed to derail democratic process. Regarding contacts with PTI coalition partners Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) and Awami Jamhoori Ittehad (AJI), the opposition leader said that both are not in favour of the dissolution of KP Assembly. Meanwhile, Arbab Akbar Hayat, a PML-N legislator in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly said the purpose of the submission of no-confidence motion is not to get power in the province, but to save the provincial Assembly from dissolution.
