Apropos 'Nawaz won't step down as PM', carried by Business Recorder yesterday, it is heartening to note that prime minister Nawaz Sharif has made it quite clear that under no circumstances will he resign. He seems to have taken courageous decision with a view to overcoming the challenge to his 14-month-old government.
Unfortunately, however, he has failed to articulate the required strategy to effectively deal with the protests led by the leadership of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He seems to be still clueless in relation to a fast deteriorating situation on Capital's Constitution Avenue. Despite tall claims of his interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, both PTI and PAT breached the 'Red Zone', staged their sit-ins in front of Parliament House. One needs to commend Business Recorder for taking a bigger picture of this grave turmoil. According to it, the "government on fearful, ignominious retreat; policy paralysis leads to virtual government paralysis".
