Pakistan's leading off-spinner Saeed Ajmal (36) is going to Brisbane in early hours on Sunday (August 24) for independent analysis of his action at the National Cricket Centre on August 25 in the afternoon. PCB asked Dr Sohail Saleem to travel to Brisbane from Lahore to oversee the entire process of testing and analysis, a PCB spokesman said.
Pakistan's leading off-spinner Saeed Ajmal is set to miss the ODI series against Sri Lanka, sources said. Left-arm pacer Junaid Khan is also missing the first ODI, as he is still recovering from his head injury sustained while hooking a bouncer during the second Test at Colombo. It may be noted that in the past, Pakistani bowlers reported for suspected bowling actions have undergone tests at the University of Western Australia in Perth and most of them were cleared, including Ajmal--who was first reported for his bowling action in 2009.
However, this time, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has changed its protocols for testing bowling actions reported by umpires and match referees so the tests are going to be held in Brisbane, sources said. It may be recalled that umpires and match referee have reported at least 30 to 35 deliveries bowled during the Test against Sri Lanka in their report. Ajmal has 174 wickets in 34 test matches and 182 in 110 ODIs.
