Traders hail Senate, National Assembly resolutions: PTI, PAT urged to refrain from politics of confrontation
The business community of South Punjab has hailed the Senate and the National Assembly's resolutions in support of Prime Minister and the opposition's commitment of strengthening democracy and parliament. The businessmen demanded of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leadership to end prevailing uncertainty by calling off their sit-ins.
Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry's (MCCI) President Khawaja Muhammad Usman said that marches and sit-ins of the PTI and the PAT have adversely affected the trade and commerce activities as number of foreign export orders were at stake. The business community and the common man, particularly overseas Pakistanis, have been facing serious difficulties in obtaining and renewing visas due to the sit-ins of the parties in Islamabad.
He urged both the political forces to review their agitating policies and discuss their issues in the Parliament which is the best forum for debating issues and finding out their solutions.
He was of the view that any unconstitutional demand of the political parties would adversely affect the national economy and productivity across the country.
"We are making hectic efforts to strengthen industrial sector so as to enhance the export volume for, but our political parties are not realising the gravity of the situation," he deplored.
The MCCI chief said that Pakistan and politics of confrontation cannot co-exist at this critical juncture and all political parities were fully aware that the army had started operation Zarb-e-Azb against the terrorists to restore the writ of the government in the troubled areas.
He urged all the political parties to desist from politics of confrontation so as to ensure complete success of the operation.
