The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) on Sunday held rallies and demonstrations in different parts of Sindh to record its protest over the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek's (PAT) sit-ins in Islamabad. Following Maulana Fazlur Rehman's claim of protesting against the sit-ins by PTI and PAT in Islamabad, the JUI-F has taken to streets holding protests and rallies in Sukkur, Pano Akil and Jacobabad on Sunday.
JUI-F workers staged a protest in Sukkur on the Qaumi Shahrah bypass. The JUI-F protestors demanded from PTI chief Imran Khan to apologise for disrespecting Maulana Fazlur Rehman. They claimed that both Imran Khan and PAT chief Tahirul Qadri were working on the foreign agenda and the JUI-F will not let that happen.
In Pano Akil, a garrison city itself which is a tehsil of Sukkur District in Sindh, the JUI-F protest procession marched from Sindh-Punjab Adda to the local Press Club against the PAT and PTI sit-ins. JUI-F workers threatened Imran Khan to take fierce action against him if he fails to apologise to their party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Similar demonstrations were held in Jacobabad, a city in the Sindh province, in support of democracy and the rule of law in the country. The protesters raised slogans against PTI and PAT leadership. The JUI-F protest demonstration passing through several areas of Jacobabad city and culminated into a rally near the DC Chowk.
Earlier, Maulana Fazlur Rehman claimed that the Western civilisation has waged a war on Islamabad, adding that people will march to Islamabad if 'sit-in stubbornness' continues.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Fazlur Rehman said all political forces were united and the state was exhibiting patience for the past 10 days.
He said the JUI-F stood by the Constitution and democracy. The JUI-F chief said no one can stop the masses from marching to Islamabad to protest against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) if the 'sit-in stubbornness' was not stopped.
He said the gathering of a few people on roads was not called a political demonstration, alleging that the demonstrations were being staged as part of the 'foreign agenda'.
Fazl claimed that the Western civilisation has waged a war on Islamabad. The JUI-F chief said he was told not to commit extremism, claiming that the protestors were making extremist demands themselves.
