On the instruction of leadership, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's MNAs, MPA, senators and office-bearers organised big rallies in Multan and adjoining areas. The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) on Monday took out rallies in support of the government against 'undemocratic moves' by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) observed the Estikam-e-Pakistan and "Youm-e-Tahafuz-e-Jamhuriat" and other rallies, where they called for continuity of the democratic system, protection of Parliament and to express solidarity with party leadership. Protesters at the rallies held placards and banners while chanting slogans against PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
The protestors stated that Parliament, democracy and state institutions would not be allowed to be sacrificed at the will of a few hundred people. Syed Javed Ali Shah, MNA, Abdul Ghaffar Dogar, Punjab Minister for prisons Abdul Waheed Arain, Bilal Butt, Sheikh Athar Mumtaz, Begum Sarwat Khan and others said that the people have rejected Imran Khan's call for civil disobedience.
They expressed unflinching solidarity with the prime minister, and said "The PML-N is the largest and most popular political party in the country at the moment and it enjoys full public support," he said and added that millions of people could be gathered on only one call of the PML-N chief."
"Sit-ins in front of the Parliament House are marring the democratic face of the country at the international level which should be stopped," Senator Rafiq Rajwana said. Addressing the participants he said that the party workers would not allow conspiracies against democracy and Parliament, adding that they will respond in a democratic way to the inappropriate language used in the sit-ins of Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri.
