The outgoing Iranian Consul General in Peshawar, Hassan Darvishwand held a farewell meeting with Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar (UoP) Professor Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan to thank for extending co-operation by the varsity administration in strengthening academic and cultural ties between the two brotherly Islamic countries.
"You're three and half years stay was aimed at extending the already strong ties between the two countries", said Vice Chancellor while praising the performance of the envoy in his tenure at Iranian Consulate Peshawar. He added Pakistan and Iran have much in common and there was a lot of untapped potential for co-operation in the education sector.
Hassan darvish said that not much break through has been achieved in teacher student exchange programmes between Iranian and Pakistani Institution but they are well on track and his successor would work more on it to materialise the same. He praised the brotherly attitude of the Vice Chancellor and making himself available for their ceremonies as when invited. Later the Vice Chancellor presented the University of Peshawar souvenir to the diplomat as a token of thanks from varsity.
