HBL, Pakistan's largest bank recently joined hands with OPF with its HBL Fast Transfer product offering. The prime objective of this initiative is to facilitate OPF in their endeavours to advance welfare to overseas Pakistanis. Both entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a recently held signing ceremony to launch a free Shuttle Service exclusively for Overseas Pakistanis in Karachi.
The service will run as a pilot project in Karachi, and will initially transport OPs from Jinnah International Terminal, Karachi Airport to Karachi Cantt Railway Station. Signing ceremony which was held at OPF Head Office in Islamabad was attended by Iftikhar Ahmed Director Welfare & Special Initiative (OPF), Iftikhar Babar Former Managing Director (OPF), Hassan Raza; Group Head Structured Credits and Global Remittance Business (HBL), Saad Kaleem Head Global Remittances (HBL) and Ahsan Abbas Senior Manager Global Remittance Business (HBL) and senior officials of Overseas Pakistani Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Hassan Raza, Group Head Structured Credits and Global Remittance Business (HBL) highlighted the importance of servicing the needs of Overseas Pakistanis, "It cannot be stressed enough that home remittances are the biggest source of foreign currency injection for Pakistan after exports. This is the result of the hard work of our Overseas Pakistanis. We must continue to find ways to reward and acknowledge their efforts."-PR
