The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf continued to stage sit-in in Karachi on sixth consecutive day on Monday in support for the 'Azadi March' being held in Islamabad. The sit-in was staged outside the PTI office at Nursery, where party leaders reiterated their six-point demands, including resignation of elected Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Several people, including men, women and children, participated in the sit-in and chanted slogans against Nawaz Sharif. Talking to PPI, PTI Sindh Assembly member Khurram Sher Zaman said the PTI would continue to stage protest unless Nawaz Sharif resigns from his post.
He said after confession from former additional secretary of ECP Afzal Khan regarding massive rigging in 2013 polls, Nawaz Sharif has lost moral right to rule the country and he should immediately announce schedule of mid-term elections. He said the PTI would continue its sit-in in the city unless Imran Khan asked them to call it off. Meanwhile, the protestors taking part in the sit-in also expressed their determination to continue their protest against riggings in election.
Usama Khan, a PTI supporter, said he has joined this sit-in to protest against the mandate stolen through rigging. "Our reason to join protest is that we want a Pakistan, where people have the right to elect their representatives," he said.
