HOUSTON: Total SA was restarting the reformer and a hydrotreater at the 225,500 barrel per day (bpd) Port Arthur, Texas, refinery on Monday following a power outage affecting the two units, said sources familiar with plant operations.
Total spokeswoman Marie Maitre declined comment on Monday.
The 35,000 bpd reformer and 42,000 bpd naphtha hydrotreater lower power early on Monday, the sources said.
The reformer converts refining low-octane byproducts into high-octane components added to gasoline.
Hydrotreaters reduces sulfur content in motor fuels to comply with US environmental rules.
