Jamaat-i-Islami Central vice ameer Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said his party is playing active role as mediator to defuse the current political tension, but not supporting any group, and called for ending political differences to steer the country out from the current host of challenges and crisis situation.
"The Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) is struggling to amicably reconcile the issues among the incumbent PML-N government and protesting leaders of PTI and PAT, Hafiz Idrees said while addressing a seminar in connection with the JI's 74th foundation day held here at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday. He said that almost all the political parties have complaints against rigging, and protest against that is also a constitutional right of every body but demand from prime minister to resign, is unconstitutional.
Flanked by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Bodies and Rural Development, Inayatullah, former provincial ministers Hafiz Hashmat, Kashif Azam, party district Peshawar ameer and number of party workers, he said that now Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was ready to reopen more than four constituencies, so PTI chief Imran Khan should end his protest sit-in, as that would be Imran Khan's moral and political victory. He cautioned that deadlock may also cause unpleasant result.
He observed that concerns exists among masses due to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek ongoing sit-ins against the government in Islamabad, as people are being confronted with immense difficulties. The JI ameer said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan, PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and Premier Nawaz Sharif are like brothers, and they should resolve all pertaining issues through mutual understanding and dialogues, adding dissolution of either national or provincial assembly was not a good omen. He said that they were trying to re-take PTI's resignations from national assembly, as dialogue is the only way to resolve all the issues.
Hafiz Idrees said that political differences should shun, as country is confronting with numerous difficulties, and JI is playing a role of mediator and are not supporting any group. He also said that Imran Khan at one hand asking Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign while on the other hand his party members made forward block with in party, so Imran Khan should take confidence of his party lawmakers.
Besides, on the occasion Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Bodies and Rural Development, Inayatullah Khan said that protest is right of any body, but demand from Premier to resign is un-constitutional. He also said that if the government did the use of force against peaceful protestors, then that will also be unconstitutional. "Jamaat-i-Islami is not a part of the PTI's protest sit-in, and it playing a role of mediator, the Minister said.
In reply to a query, Inayatullah said that if government don't pay utility bill it would be revolt against the State, adding Pakistan is a strong and natural resources rich country, where there is reservoirs of gold and coal, but unfortunately, we couldn't properly utilised it, he maintained. He also regretted that it was misfortune of the country that despite lapse of over six decades the country came into being but still the country lacks national leadership.
He also claimed that JI is the only political party, in which internal democracy exists, and it is the only political party of which leadership is from common people. It is not a family based political party, in which leader inherit leadership as well, he maintained. The JI first ameer was from India, second from Punjab, third from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and forth from Sindh province, as it depends on the ability of a worker, Inayatullah said.
